Dorothy Moon
Counseling and Psychiatric Services

Dorothy joined the CAPS staff in August 2012. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Business from the University of Waterloo in 2003. She then went to earn her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology, University of Denver in 2008.

Prior to coming to CU-Boulder, Dorothy worked and trained in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, a hospital, and a residential day treatment program. Her most recent experience was working with refugees, which has taught her about resiliency, cultural sensitivity, patience, and the power of a listening ear. Dorothy believes that everyone deserves to be heard and understood and wants to help underrepresented populations, particularly Asians and international students, have a voice. She is also passionate about helping minority students stay true to themselves, while also fitting in with the majority group.

In her spare time, Dorothy enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and creating things.
