The University of Colorado at Boulder is centrally located in the foothills of Colorado's Rocky Mountains, just 35 minutes northwest of Denver. Boulder is recognized for its ideal geographical setting. It is protected by the mountains so our winters are mild and the summers sunny and dry. Boulder is rated the "#1 Sports Town in America" by Outside Magazine, and offers countless year-round recreational activities. Take advantage of the 200 miles of public hiking and biking trails, approximately 43,000 acres of open space or the Boulder Creek Path, which runs through the middle of town. It is a few hours from many of Colorado's world-famous ski resorts.
