Founded by the University of Queensland in 2008, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that cultivates students’ presentation and research communication skills, and challenges them to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. The competition at CU Boulder is open to all doctoral candidates. Applicants have the opportunity to participate in training and workshops leading up to the preliminary rounds and a final competition.
In the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competitors will describe their research in three minutes, using only one static slide, in front of a panel of judges and a live audience. This event is held annually at the beginning of the Spring semester and is free and open to the public.
