Graphic of mentorship badge showing mountains and CU Boulder brandingUniversity of Colorado Boulder’s Mentorship Badge aims to help students improve communication and interpersonal skills, gain leadership and organizational qualities, increase confidence and motivation, practice networking skills and provide resources and support for other graduate students. 

Requirements:

Students receiving a Mentorship Badge will be required to do all of the following:

  • Participate in two mentorship workshops
  • Participate in an official campus mentorship program or participate in a community mentorship program. Provide proof/documentation that you have met or communicated with your mentee a minimum of six times per academic year. Write a 1-2 page reflection paper on the benefits of peer mentoring. 

And choose one of the following:

  1. Participate in student panel for new graduate student orientation. Submit one paragraph expressing your interest to Hailey.Herman@colorado.edu in either July (for fall orientation) or November (for spring orientation).
  2. Participate in an "Ask Me Anything" mentoring session for first year graduate students. Submit one paragraph expressing your interest to Hailey.Herman@colorado.edu in the beginning of the fall or spring semester.  

I've completed all of the requirements. Now what? 

Fill out the application to get your badge. The Graduate Program Manager will then reach out to you to confirm completion of and review the above requirements.
