Water Engineering Management (WEM) is a professional master's program offered by the Department of Civil Engineering. The program provides an in-depth study of the skills and tools demanded by the rigors of the water profession and is tailored for working professionals looking to develop a new skillset. Build your non-technical competencies with courses on leadership, communication, financials, governance and water management, all of which are taught by CU Boulder faculty and senior-level water professionals.
This 30 credit hour program is available online or on campus and results in a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (MSCVE). Get started right away by pursuing the graduate certificate or taking individual classes in the spring and summer semesters. Courses will be transferred over and will count toward the degree requirements (maximum of 9 credits).
This program is ideal for those employed by consulting engineering, utility, government or regulatory agencies looking to augment their skills in leadership, communication, finances and governance within the water profession.
Through our program, our students gain leadership skills and networking opportunities with senior water professionals across the U.S. from utilities, consulting firms and global professional organizations. Our students are able to advance their careers while simultaneously supporting our most valuable natural resource.
