As Senior Assistant Dean, Gretchen O'Connell brings to the Graduate School more than 18 years of experience working in higher education in both private and public universities. Ms. O'Connell joined the CU Boulder Graduate School team in 2007, and since that time has worked closely with the colleges, schools, and departments, advocating on behalf of graduate students throughout the lifecycle of the graduate experience. With her strong background in educational policy, Ms. O'Connell serves as a central resource to department chairs, program directors, professional staff, and faculty advisors on graduate issues. She has spearheaded initiatives to improve the life of graduate students on our campus, and collaborates with partners across the university system to represent graduate student interests.
She received her Ed.M. in Educational Policy and Management from Harvard University in 2006 and holds a BS in Speech Communication from Syracuse University.
