I’m Lina Perez-Angel, a PhD candidate in the geology department. I study how climate has changed through time since 6 Ma in the Tropical Andes. My biggest interest is the relationship between climate and tectonics, particularly in the tropics.
I chose CU Boulder to work with Peter Molnar (Crafoord Prize winner) and Julio Sepúlveda, who gave me the opportunity to develop my project in my hometown of Bogotá, Colombia.
The best experience so far as a graduate student is the great collaboration and supportive community that exists between the geology department, CIRES, and INSTAAR. I am lucky to belong to the three institutions, and it is the best experience so far as a graduate student.
