Anthropology

Education - B.S., Forensic Anthropology, Metropolitan State University, Denver; Ph.D., Anthropology, University of Colorado, Boulder

Most Interesting Travels - The La Libertad Region in coastal, northwestern Peru was probably one of my favorite places to visit. The region has a the rich cultural history with some amazing archaeological sites , as well  beautiful colonial archtectiture in the capital city, Trujillo

Extracurricular Activities- I love being outside! In my free time, I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, and nordic skiing. I also love getting others excited about mountain biking, especially kids! In the summer, I coach for a junior mountain biking program called Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures (SMBA), and am a volunteer mentor for the Little Bellas/Amy D. Foundation Sunday Sessions girls mountain biking program.

Current Research - My research interests are in nutritional anthropology and human energetics. My more recent research focused on food habits and physical activity patterns among elementary school aged children living in the San Luis Valley, Colorado.
