Research

My research interests are broadly centered around the link between tectonics, surface and deep earth processes. I am currently using (U-Th)/He thermochronology on ancient, exposed crystalline basement rock from the Canadian Shield to reconstruct their low temperature thermal histories, often a consequence of their burial and exhumation history. Being far from the plate boundary, substantial burial and erosion within the Canadian Shield is enigmatic, and in working with geodynamic models I hope to learn what role mantle convection and dynamic topography may play.
