Prof. Lizzy Trower's project, "'To see a world in a grain of sand,'" will expand on her recent work on ooids to test their utility as a proxy for CO2 in ancient atmospheres and develop a suite of inquiry-based curriculum that will enable K-12 students to explore Earth surface processes by examining the traits of sand grains.
The CAREER grant will last 5 years and entail both research and teaching components.
