CU grad students Jefferson Yarce and Danny Feucht, both from the Department of Geological Sciences and CIRES, won the Society of Exploration Geophysicists international challenge bowl at the SEG annual meeting in Houston on September 25, 2017. Yarce and Feucht won the regional competition in Denver in the spring, beating out teams from Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. In Houston they competed against teams from all over the world. Their prize for winning the regional competition was an all-expense-paid trip to the Houston international SEG meeting and Expo, and their prize for winning the final was a cash award.
