Experience syzygy in the Fiske Planetarium dome!
The Sun, Moon and Earth are teaming up for an Annular Eclipse of the Sun on October 14, 2023 and a Total Solar Eclipse on April, 8, 2024. Explore the inner workings of these upcoming eclipses and learn how to watch them safely.
A new show in the dome starts on the half hour and there will be ongoing activities outside (weather permitting) and in the Fiske gallery space.
Also join us for a Trombone Tour of the Solar System!
Professional trombone musician, Darren Kramer of ElektroHornz will join Fiske staff as we tour the CU Scale Model Solar System enroute to other Culture Crawl venues.
Three New Orleans style jazz parades will be held across campus using our 1 to 10 billion scale model. We'll start at the Kuiper Belt by the Museum of Natural History at 2:30 p.m. and end at the Sun outside of Fiske Planetarium. At 3:15 p.m., we will tour to the Visual Arts Complex and Art Museum. The final tour will begin at 4:00 p.m. returning back to Fiske.
Enjoy music, meet new friends, and learn more about our vast Solar System as part of this Culture Crawl tour across campus!
The Culture Crawl is a campus-wide event celebrating several cultural heritage sites and groups at CU Boulder. Stop by the different locations and take part in immersive activities, performances, games and shows. Every location you visit gives you a chance to win a prize.
