We're excited for the Crew Dragon launch TOMORROW! This is the first time astronauts have launched from American soil since 2011! As part of the Demo-2 mission, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch with astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley aboard from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This diagram shows the Falcon 9 liftoff, capsule separation enabling the astronauts to reach the ISS, and finally, the autonomous landing of the rocket. This is a pivotal step as the Demo-2 is the last major test for the SpaceX human spaceflight system which is intended to take us back to the Moon, to Mars, and beyond!
