58 days and counting til the Mars Perseverance rover launch! What will this new rover uncover? Much like the Curiosity rover of 2011 (still happily roving on Mars) the Perseverance rover will search for signs of ancient microbial life. And, with a new drill, it’ll collect core sample caches for retrieval during a later mission. Plus, it’ll help us to gather knowledge necessary for human exploration to the Red Planet, like finding water resources that may exist below the surface, characterizing Martian weather, and identifying other potential environmental conditions that could affect future astronauts. What do you hope Perseverance will discover?
