From the Hubble Space Telescope the eXtreme Deep Field with 5500 galaxiesGalaxies galore! The Hubble eXtreme Deep Field shows what is lurking in the universe. Combining more than 2 million seconds (or 23+ days) of exposure time towards a tiny, dark patch of the sky in the constellation Fornax — where we once saw only darkness, appeared around 5,500 galaxies! Some of the furthest or faintest galaxies shown are one ten-billionth of the brightness of what our eyes can see. To us, it's inspiring to see what exists in places that may be overlooked!
