Step outside tonight after dinner and see Venus high in the western sky. In fact, Venus is at greatest elongation this week (distance from the Sun from our perspective). Specifically, it's 46 degrees east of Old Sol in our sky. Got binoculars or a scope? You'll see Venus looking like the first quarter Moon - it's only 50% sunlit right now.
