Dimensions: A Tool to Increase Funding & Collaboration

Interested in learning how your research productivity stacks up against other investigators outside CU Boulder? 

Join us for this session devoted to how the Dimensions platform can help you:

  • identify potential collaborators, experts, industry partners and/or reviewers
  • search by abstract to identify investigators funded in the past with similar projects
  • measure and assess research impact 
  • inform strategic initiatives 

Our partners from RIO will be joining us for this session to discuss other campus funding databases and what sets Dimensions apart.

Introduction to Dimensions

Join us for an overview of and orientation to the Dimensions platform. Dimensions is an interlinked global database containing over: 100 million publications, 4.5 million awarded grants, 38 million patent records, 450,000 clinical trials and 400,000 policy documents. This session will cover the contents of the database, a basic orientation to navigation and features, and some common queries that can assist in navigating the platform.  

When: Thursday July 25th, 2:00-3:00 pm

Identifying Scholarly Networks via Bibliometric Mapping 

Join us for a session on how to use bibliometric exports from Dimensions' expansive database of over 100 million research publications to create dynamic network visualizations using Vosviewer, no prior experience with Vosviewer or Dimensions required.

When: Friday July 26th, 10:30 – 11:30 am

Where: Regent Hall Room 302

What to bring: Laptop
