Dear faculty colleagues,
I am feeling very sad as I write this with the knowledge that many of you have suffered devastating loss in the catastrophic Marshall Fire. I am so sorry for these heartbreaking losses.
The Office of Faculty Affairs staff and faculty are here to help in any way we can. Let us know if you need assistance with applications for leaves (including a new emergency leave option), tenure clock extensions, or applications to emergency funds for short-term emergency expenses. We hope that this can help give at least some relief during the crisis.
I also want to make sure you are aware of other available campus and community resources, which have been compiled on the central campus fire resources web page. Among many other resources, it includes links for the Faculty and Staff Emergency Fund and the Faculty Staff Assistance Program’s great advice for how to assist friends and colleagues during this time.
Please know that our thoughts are with you. We wish you safety and peace during this difficult time. May 2022 bring us all more joy than sorrow.
