Education
I received the Laurea Triennale (B.Sc Degree) and the Laurea Specialistica (M.Sc Degree) in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. I received the Ph.D. in Information Engineering from the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova, Italy, in 2011. My advisors were Prof. Silvano Pupolin (University of Padova) and Prof. Georgios B. Giannakis (University of Minnesota). From January 2009 to September 2010, I was a visiting scholar at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Minnesota, USA, within the group of Prof. Georgios B. Giannakis. From January 2011 to November 2014 I was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Digital Technology Center of the University of Minnesota, USA.
At the University of Colorado Boulder
I am Assistant Professor within the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering (ECEE) at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am also a member of the Affiliate Faculty Program of the Department of Applied Mathematics (APPM) at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Prior affiliations
Prior to joining the University of Colorado Boulder, from December 2014 to August 2018, I was a Senior Scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). My research efforts were on developing optimization and control algorithms, with particular emphasis on distributed architectures for power and energy systems. I was the Principal Investigator of a project funded by the DOE Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-e) under the program Network Optimized Distributed Energy Systems (NODES).
