For "Publish on Selected Calendar(s)", you may have the following options described below. If you are unsure of what to select but would like your event to be visible on the public calendar, select "Public".
Private - These events are not exposed on the public calendar, but the event may be accessible through the private calendar option via direct links to your event. Users typically use the private option if they want the event to only be displayed on their website's events blocks.
Both - This will display the public and private categories available to you. You will need to use this option if you wish to select multiple categories that are from both public and private categories for your event.
The category/subcategory will be prepopulated from the selections you made in your profile.
If there are more categories the event applies to, click "Change" for the category selection. If you select this option, a screen will pop up where you can check off the categories you want the event to be under. Check those off and then click "Submit".
Fill out the event description. Type directly in the editor. Only use bold, italics and text size to format the text. Do not use other fonts or colors, this will ensure the text is accessible and maintain a consistent look to the calendar. Tip: If you are going to copy text from another document, use the "Paste Plain Text" option by clicking on the clipboard icon.
For the event date, start time, and duration, you can opt to fill it out here or in the next screen under "Scheduling & Facilities".
Click the next tab "Scheduling & Facilities" to proceed to the next screen.
If you filled out the event date, start time, and duration on the "Main Information" tab, you will find it populated on the screen here. If you did not, fill it out the Start Date / End Date fields and the Start and End times under "Event Time(s)".
If no facility is needed, you can proceed to the "Details & Registration" tab to finalize your event details.
If you would like to schedule a room, click "Generate a Schedule".
You may search for the room you would like to book in "Location Keyword Search" and click "Filter Facility Checklist"
In the Location/Building/Room section, select the only the room. Then click "Save"
Check that the contact information is filled out correctly. For the other boxes under "Other Event Information", check them off if it is appropriate for your event. For example, if your event is only open to students, check off students.
Ticketing information boxes are available if this applies to your event.
The "Of note" box is a great place to call out something about your event such as "free and open the public"
If your event requires registration, Click the box next to Enable Registration. Registration settings will appear for you to configure.
Click "Preview" at the bottom right of the screen.
Tip: Events with active registration can be managed from the Manage Event Registrations area. Click on the Events tab and then select Registration: Active.
On the preview screen you can opt to save the event or release the event. See below for which option you should select.
The "Save Event" option will not publish your event to the calendar or send a facility request to reserve a room. An event should be saved if you are missing event information and wish to fill it in at a later time.
The "Release Event" option will send a facility request to reserve your location (if there is a room requested) and publish your event to the calendar (if it's a public/private event).
