We are thrilled to invite you to our Environmental Justice Speaker Series, hosted by CU Boulder’s Society of Environmental Engineers (SEVEN), in collaboration with the Environmental Engineering Program, the BOLD Center and CU Boulder’s chapters of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers. This series originated in direct response to the murder of George Floyd, and the racism and systematic inequalities disproportionately impacting communities of color across the United States.
We believe that education and professional training must include the political and social contexts in which our engineering field is set. We hope this series will serve as an educational tool to galvanize discussion on the intersection of social justice and engineering, and act as a starting point for our community to consider critically our role as engineers and professionals. We look forward to your attendance and future engagement.
