This position involves a combination of field and office related activities to both the routine and complex planning and zoning tasks and duties.
Roles and responsibilities
Job duties include reviewing building, development and subdivision plans to ensure compliance with local code requirements; researching, reviewing and preparing zoning and special use permit requests; preparing staff reports, findings of fact and code compliance letters; assisting with routine updates to the Zoning Code, Comprehensive Plan and other special land use plans and studies (neighborhood plans, downtown plans, economic studies, design guidelines, transportation studies, etc.); field inspections to ensure zoning and landscape compliance; review of and issuing sign permits.
Experience and requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Planning or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the job.
Salary/benefits: Starting Bi-weekly salary range $1,799 - $2,158
