Emily Perry is a professional academic advisor for ENVD, who primarily serves first and second-year students. She also leads the Intra-University Transfer process and is an active ally in Designers Without Borders. Previously, she has held positions within the Colorado Community College System supporting students with disabilities, ensuring students’ civil rights were met, and educating faculty and staff in the following areas: implicit bias, anti-racism, intersectionality, trauma-informed care, and empathy-driven practices.

Emily has a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts in Women’s Studies and Family Studies from Central Michigan University. She also has a Master’s of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Oakland University and has been dedicated to advocating for students with a diverse range of needs, strengths, and opportunities since 2017. Emily has hundreds of hours of training in trauma-informed care, resiliency, crisis management, and empathy through her previous roles at 24/7 crisis line services and domestic violence safehouse shelters. She loves working with students and supporting their individual paths and perspective in ENVD.
