Dylan currently serves as the Assistant Director of Academic Advising & First-Year Experience. His role supervises the first & second-year advising team while also serving as a primary advisor to incoming first and second-year students. He leads the first-year experience program and serves as the central point of contact for ENVD’s College Orientation Days each fall and spring. Additionally, Dylan oversees the transfer process for all students outside of CU looking to transition to Environmental Design. You will find him with a coffee cup in hand always engaging with students and colleagues throughout the building discussing stories, experiences, and ways to continue to build impact for design students at CU.

Dylan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in psychology and exercise science and a minor in religion. He also holds a Master of Science from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in higher education administration. His thesis is titled “Defining Student Success through Holistic Frameworks.” He is currently a doctoral student studying educational equity, with a focus on professional learning & technology at the University of Colorado Denver.

Dylan has been recognized as the New Advisor of the Year in 2017 and Advising Administrator of the year in 2021 from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is also recognized by the National Academic Advising Association for his work in Advising Administration in 2021.
