In the spring of 2013, a class of twenty-five junior and senior Landscape Architecture students at CU Boulder were invited by the City of Boulder to create an outdoor classroom for Horizons K-8 Charter School. It was part of a design/build curriculum led by instructors Brian Cook and David Kahn, in conjunction with the City of Boulder Parks and recreation Department. Many students were fulfilling a required practical experience credit, but they came away with a sense of how to implement local community improvements that are responsive and relevant to the people who will live with and use them.  Read the article on page 8 of the ASLA Colorado Exposure Magazine.
