lit theoryThis class will explore the fundamentals of good teaching, both philosophically and practically. The philosophical part will consist of reading and discussion various ideas about what teaching is, what it is supposed to do, and what it requires of teacher and student. The practical part will be doing actual teaching in an undergraduate section of English 1260, Introduction to Women's Literature, and then discussing what worked and what didn't, and why. Students must be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:45 for teaching in the undergraduate section; the graduate seminar will begin immediately after the undergraduate course.
