Hendrik Heinz is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and recent recipient of the Swiss Chemical Society’s Sandmeyer Award for outstanding work in industrial or applied chemistry. Heinz earned his PhD in materials science and engineering from ETH Zurich, Switzerland and joined the faculty in 2015 after nine years at the University of Akron. His research interests include computer simulation of inorganic-organic interfaces, development of force fields for prediction of interfacial properties, and simulation of solar cells and conductive composite materials. Heinz earned the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in 2010.
