The College of Engineering and Applied Science is continuously working towards greater equity, inclusion and diversity (EDI) with undergraduate and graduate students, post-docs, staff, faculty, and administrators. Knowing this will be ongoing and collective work, our college in alignment with the campus-wide Inclusion, Diversity and Excellence in Academics (IDEA) Plan, will take a strategic and systematic approach to embedding EDI into all that we do.
In the fall 2020, the college participated in a campus-wide process of identifying specific action items to focus each unit’s efforts. As a college, we are working collectively to enhance our efforts around:

IDEA Plan actions are considered “in-progress” once an assessment plan is submitted to the Director of Inclusive Culture for review and feedback. Each assessment plan outlines the goals for each action, tactics or strategies to accomplish the goals, and metrics that will be used to demonstrate the impact and progress toward the goals.
