I grew up in Colorado, and while I love to travel I can't imagine moving out of state! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Colorado State University, and my Master's degree in Global Affairs from University of Denver. I have worked at CU Boulder for more than 12 years, in a few different staff roles. I love the laid-back atmosphere in the Boulder area, and I particularly enjoy working on the advising team within the College of Engineering & Applied Science.
I believe education is a key that can open many doors across a person’s lifetime, from career opportunities to personal growth to improving the society around us. Education can take so many different forms, and I enjoy talking with students about their varied interests and educational pursuits. When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher. During college I studied abroad in Wales, which had a big impact on me and shifted my career goals. From that point on, I knew I wanted to work with and support college students with all different kinds of backgrounds, interests, and experiences. Working as an academic advisor is a wonderful opportunity to do just that!
