Mia Axon came on board as Assistant Dean for Advancement for the CU Boulder School of Education in September 2018. Mia brings a wealth of advancement experience, and she has successfully served a variety of organizations including the University of Michigan, Outward Bound, the American Civil Liberties Union, The Nature Conservancy, Environmental Defense Fund and the National Museum of Wildlife Art (Jackson Hole). 

Mia is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned a MA in Harp Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. She was a concert harpist before turning her professional attention to advancement in the nonprofit sector. Mia is also an accomplished rock climber: she was the fourth women in the world to climb 5.14a and has a successful sport-climbing competition record. She currently serves as a national board member for the American Alpine Club. In her free time Mia loves to climb, ski, spend time in the mountains and hang out with her teenage son.
