Meet Lauren Ollweiler, a third-year undergraduate from Golden, Colorado majoring in elementary education. Lauren is extremely passionate about her involvement in the School of Education, emphasizing her appreciation for the valuable relationships she has formed in the school’s close-knit, incredibly welcoming community. She feels as though her love for teaching and learning alongside others, coupled with her commitment to practicing allyship in support of minoritized communities and crafting equitable learning spaces for students belonging to all identities, is sustained within the elementary education program’s commitment to operating from strong guiding principles promoting anti-racism and justice. Lauren spends her free time playing with her adorable three pound teacup poodle named Lovey. Her favorite place in the world is Moab, Utah and she absolutely adores exploring the outdoors with her friends and family.
