Zero Waste Event Assistant
Student Assistant I - II. Work at athletic games, concerts, special events and busy times on the Boulder campus, to ensure that waste is minimized and compost and recycling are properly separated. Weekend and late night work often required. Availability needed for work at home football games during the fall semester, and for some home bastketball games November through March. Some other special events will include residence hall move-in in late August, move-out in late April and early May, the Boulder Bolder race over Memorial Day weekend, summer concerts at Folsom Field.
Zero Waste Green Team
Student Assistant I - II. As a partnership with the City of Boulder, the ZW Green Teams visit off-campus students through face-to-face interactions at their homes on the Hill and other student areas. Trained in zero waste best practices, team members expand the participation in the City of Boulder's Universal Zero Waste Ordinace through distribution of zero waste tool kits (bins, reusable bags, literature, etc) and answer student resident questions related to recycling/composting in their home. All team members need excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to educate peers. Minimal time commitment needed; hours vary 4 - 8 hours per week. Late afternoon/evening availability required.
Zero Waste Outreach Team
Student Assistant I - II. Educate the campus community about all zero waste best practices, including waste reduction, reuse, composting, and recycling. Develop and distribute information, conduct visits to campus offices, and give presentations to students, faculty and staff. Involves face-to-face interactions and teamwork, along with individual time management. Support zero waste events on campus on both an outreach and operational level. Creativity, artistic skills, and graphic design experience are very helpful, but not necessary. 10-20 hours per week, depending on the week and your availabilty.
Temporary Move-In Recycler (mid-August to early September)
Temporary position beginning mid-August and ending early September Student Assistant IStart off your semester making a difference! Recycle cardboard at residence halls during move-in, starting the week before the start of the fall semester and continuing through the second week of classes. Most work will be scheduled in late August. Flatten boxes, empty containers, and direct students to recycling bins. Physical outdoor labor. Several shift times available between 7am-10pm, 10-25 hours/week.
