Students are the heart and soul of the Environmental Center, creating a sustainable University of Colorado Boulder campus and making a positive impact on the campus community and beyond. E-Center student-led programs and projects have pioneered sustainable improvements that other universities and communities are emulating.
Inclusivity and Diversity: Social justice initiatives are key components of sustainability. The Environmental Center strives to create programs, activities and an organizational culture that embrace social justice, inclusivity and diversity. Applications are sought from all students including, but not limited to, underrepresented students at CU: students of color, first-generation students, students with disabilities, LGBTQI students, low-income students and non-traditional students. Undergraduate and graduate students who work iwth the CU Enviornmental Center are engaged in a variety of majors such as (but not limited to) engineering, business, communication, political science, architecture, biology, education, and environmental studies.
Academic Year Openings: Positions for the academic year are filled in August of each year, with few openings at other times. Applications are accepted year round with interviews held at the start of the Fall semester. Students are hired for the full Fall to Spring academic year, with work commitment varying from 5 - 20 hours per week depending on position. All students who are interviewed each August will be asked to hold the date of a required-attendance staff work retreat in September in case they are hired.
Openings at other times: Positions sometimes become available during the school year and are posted and filled quickly. Summer positions are usually filled in May. Current Openings are posted on the tab above.
