Nov 10th, 2022 CASE E422 5:00 - 8:00 PM

Our first event is the Climate Justice Panel on Healing and Action. Our 3 guest speakers who will address the importance of individual and collective healing are: Dr. Natalie Avalos - CU Professor, Adriana Paola Palacios Luna - Local Community Leader, and Ian Sanderson - Naropa Professor. With their combined knowledge of Indigenous and cultural practices, we hope to create a space for mutual knowledge exchange. By exploring the impact of colonization, generational trauma, and COVID on our lives, we will begin to understand how we can move forward and build community resilience. The discussion will be interactive and followed by an art activity led by Adriana Paola Palacios Luna.

Nov 28th, 2022 Ice Rink Overlook (Rec Center) 5:00 - 8:00 PM

For our second and final event for the semester, Andrea Nawage will return to lead us in a healing circle. She will be joined by Beverly Castaneda, and together they will lead us through an experiential deep dive of Indigenous traditions and our connection to the Earth. If you came to the first healing circle, then you have witnessed how impactful and meaningful these types of events are, and we hope you can close the semester with us.

These will be the last offerings this semester from the Climate Justice Team for folx to complete their required assignments for the new Climate Justice Microcredential. Please visit the Climate Justice Leadership Alliance website to learn about the microcredential and to register for the panel and healing circle.
