Carlo Brancucci
Lecturer

Carlo Brancucci is a senior eesearch engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the Power Systems Engineering Center, and is teaching a graduate course on Power System Planning and Operations (ECEN 5007). His research at NREL focuses on renewable integration, analyzing the impact of variable renewable energy sources on power system operations and electricity markets. He currently leads a research project that analyzes the potential impacts of climate change on wind and solar resources, as well as on bulk power system operations. His latest publications analyzed the value of wind and solar power forecasting. He holds a PhD from the Technology, Policy, and Management Faculty at Delft University of Technology (2013) and a master's in aeronautical engineering from the University of Bristol (2009).
