Disability Services awards scholarships and provides limited financial assistance to students through the programs listed below. To be eligible, applicants must have documentation of a disability, have status as a degree-seeking student at CU-Boulder, and submit a Disability Services Scholarship Application before the award deadline:

  • June 1 (Fall Awards)
  • December 1 (Spring Awards)

Four scholarships, for $500 per person, are available annually to students who have physical or sensory disabilities (i.e., blindness, deafness, speech impairments, spinal cord injuries, amputations, etc.). A maximum of two awards are granted per student.

Selection criteria:

  • Evidence of industrious and ambitious characteristics with no record of student misconduct, via a letter from an individual who knows the applicant well
  •  Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.3
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • CU-Boulder student for at least one year

Up to four scholarships, for $500 per person, awarded annually to promising intellectually gifted students with socio-emotional needs. A maximum of two awards are granted per student.

Selection criteria:

  • Record of formal test scores demonstrating that the student is intellectually gifted (ACT, SAT, WAIS, etc.)
  • Evidence of socio-emotional needs
  • Evidence of industrious and ambitious characteristics with no record of student misconduct, via a letter from an individual who knows the applicant well
  • Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.3
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • CU-Boulder student for at least one year

One $1000 individual merit-based scholarships ($500 fall and $500 spring) awarded annually to students with epilepsy.

Selection criteria:

  • Personal statement about overcoming challenges, academic, career and life goals, and financial need, if applicable
  • Letter of recommendation /support
  • Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.2

Maximum $300 award toward the cost of a diagnostic evaluation for qualifying CU-Boulder students. Requires a completed information session with an Access Coordinator or documentation on file. Awards granted on a rolling basis.

Selection criteria:

  • Status as an undergraduate
  • Demonstrated need for assessment
  • Demonstrated financial need
