If you are a student with a Peer Notetaker accommodation, you will receive an email with a link to the Peer Notetaker Request Form via CU Google Forms before the start of the semester.  To complete this form, use your CU Google account by logging in with your CU IdentiKey and credentials. Once you have submitted your request, Disability Services will confirm receipt and provide you with an update on next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students approved for a Peer Notetaker will receive notification via CU Email at the beginning of each semester or following the approval of the Peer Notetaking accommodation. This notification will provide a link to the Notetaker Request Form via CU Google Forms. If you are approved for a peer notetaker accommodation and did not receive an email notification regarding this form, please send an email to dsnotetaking@colorado.edu or call (303)-735-2998.

The Peer Notetaker Request Form is restricted to your CU Google account. If you have trouble accessing the form, or if you need assistance completing it, please send an email to dsnotetaking@colorado.edu or call (303)-735-2998.

After you submit the Peer Notetaker Request Form, you will receive an email from dsnotetaking@colorado.edu with an update and next steps on your request for a peer notetaker under the following timeline:
  • within five (5) business days after the first day of your course(s), if submitted before the first day of class or
  • within five (5) business days after submitting this form, if submitted on or after the first day of class

If a peer notetaker cannot be identified within five (5) business days, Disability Services will reach out to you to provide a temporary alternative accommodation until one is secured.

Once a notetaker is secured, you will receive an email invitation to your Course Notes Folder in CU Google Drive. You will need to use your CU Google account by logging in with your CU IdentiKey and credentials to access this shared folder; you can then download the notes provided by your Peer Notetaker.

Yes, there may be more robust solutions (use of a SmartPen, notetaking software, etc.) in lieu of a Peer Notetaker. Please set up an appointment to meet with your assigned Access Coordinator to review alternative options.

You can always reach out to your assigned Access Coordinator to confirm your accommodations. If approved for a Peer Notetaker accommodation, the following bullet will show up on your accommodation letter:

Peer Notetaker – Student submits the Peer Notetaker Request Form to Disability Services (DS), who will then secure a peer notetaker. DS may reach out to professor for assistance if needed.
