Director

Joe joined the Disability Services office in 2014 as an Access Coordinator and has been in his role as the Director since 2020.

Education and experience

Prior to joining CU Boulder, Joe obtained his MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, where he worked with the Technical Assistance and Continuing Education (TACE) grant, aimed at meeting the needs of the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and their partners.

As a graduate student, Joe interned with Veteran Affairs’ Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program. He has been a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor since 2014 and has been working with individuals with disabilities since 2009 when he started as a Program Manager for a home for adults with developmental disabilities in Western Massachusetts.

As an undergraduate student, Joe received a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is currently working towards an MBA from CU Denver.

Areas of interest

Joe's areas of interest include universal design for learning, disability studies, adaptive sports and recreation and vocational rehabilitation.
