Leigh is researching organic matter removal via biological drinking water filters. She is looking at removal efficacy based on quantifiable system factors, such as residence time, biomass and temperature in order to best optimize biological filters. Her passion for sustainable technologies and for protecting the environment led her to her current research. After she completes her doctorate, Leigh plans to find a vocation where her passions and the needs of the world meet.
