University: Arizona State University

Department: Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering

Education:

  • MS,  Arizona State University, Environmental Technology Management (in progress).
  • BSE, Arizona State University, Engineering (Electrical specialty), 2014.

Center Involvement:

  • Graduate Research Assistant; Project 2: Application of Photochemical Processes for the Design and Implementation of Sustainable Treatment for Small Systems, Activity 2: Photocatalytic Nitrate Reduction

Jasper is currently working on designing and creating a UV LED photo catalytic reactor for Dr. Kiril Hristovski and Dr. Paul Westerhoff.  This system will be used to remove contaminants (such as nitrites and nitrates) from water.  She chose this field for her master's degree because of her interest in environmental issues such as water contamination.  Jasper wanted to be able to combine her interest in engineering with the environmental subject matter, which is what she has been able to do with her research thus far.
