Sonia DeLuca Fernández serves CU Boulder as the university’s senior vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion. She reports to the chancellor and provides strategic direction for campuswide DEI initiatives and strategies for improving the campus culture. DeLuca Fernández earned a doctorate of philosophy in higher education from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in social foundations of education and a bachelor’s degree in African American studies, both from the University of Iowa.
