Network cables at SPSC data center

There are no costs associated with housing your equipment in the SPSC Data Center. See the Features and Benefits page for more information regarding the advantages of moving to the SPSC.

A sustainable, centrally managed computing center is beneficial to our university. By reducing the number of small server rooms that are typically energy- and space-inefficient across campus, the university saves on both energy costs and physical space.

High Performance Computing Facility

The High Performance Computing Facility (HPCF), the container in which Janus resides in, is designed to house equipment that has high power requirements per rack (>10 kW per rack). The smallest fraction of space in the HPCF is a fully populated rack. Since space is limited, a faculty committee will prioritize requests if demand for the HPCF exceeds the existing capacity. The rates for a rack at the HPCF are based on the operating costs per rack in the facility.
