Research Interests

My research explores the interactions between different knowledge systems in regards to climate change and water resources. Currently, my focus is on bridging the gap between indigenous and scientific knowledge in the Arctic and Subarctic to form a holistic understanding of environmental change and its impacts in this area. I also oversee a cooperative water-quality monitoring project with the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council (YRITWC) that involves Tribal and First Nation volunteers collecting water samples that are analyzed by the USGS at our labs in Boulder, Colorado.
