Research Interests

I am interested in a wide variety of cryospheric topics. These include: assessing the thermal state of permafrost and of polar ice sheets, documenting the rates at which the arctic environment is currently changing, reconstructing the magnitude of past climate changes using geophysical inverse methods (e.g., borehole paleothermometry), determining the heat flow into the base of polar ice sheets to help assess their stability, and projecting environmental changes in the arctic over the next 50 years using regional climate models.
