Dr. Isabelle Cozzarelli of the U.S. Geological SurveyPlease join CWEST for a Distinguished Seminar by Dr. Isabelle Cozzarelli on Wednesday, October 3rd, 11am-12pm in SEEC’s Sievers Room S228. Her talk is titled Geochemical and Biological Effects of Oil and Gas Wastewater Release to Surface WaterRead her abstract for more information.

Dr. Cozzarelli is a research hydrologist with the Earth System Processes Division and Project Chief with the U.S. Geological Survey. She combines field and laboratory experimental approach to investigate biogeochemical processes in shallow groundwater and surface water environments. She uses a multi-disciplinary and multi-scale approach to study processes in environments stressed by anthropogenic inputs of biodegradable carbon, such as crude oil, landfill leachate, and oil and gas wastes.

CWEST Distinguished Seminars are held in conjunction with the Hydrology and Water Resources seminar series as well as INSTAAR seminar series. Refreshments will be served at 10:45am. Feel free to print and post her seminar flyer in your department hallways
