As we wrap up the summer season, please join us for a USGS & CU Connectedness seminar on September 5th at 3-4pm in SEEC's Sievers Room S228 about Uranium dynamics in near-surface systems: examples of active research and teaching focused on Uranium biogeochemistry. Short, TED Talk-style talks will be given by Dr. Alexis Templeton, Geologoy Associate Professor and CWEST research committee member; Dr. Kate Campbell, USGS biogeochemist; and Tyler Kane, Geology MS student.

This series highlights the connection between geoscience research at the USGS and CU Boulder and the benefit it provides to students. Thank you to those who attended out prior USGS & CU Connectedness seminar on how stream metabolism provides insight into ecological function and water quality at multiple scales with examples from continental, local, and Aufeis studies. We heard talks from USGS ecologist Dr. Ted Stets, INSTAAR/CEAE MS student Maggie Spangler, and INSTAAR/CEAE Associate Professor and CWEST education committee chair, Dr. Mike Gooseff.
