Kai Kloepfer is the founder of Biofire, a Boston-based startup building the future of firearms. Aiming to reduce the thousands of deaths from gun violence and misuse of firearms, he has worked to develop and commercialize a biometrically-activated smart gun that functions with the owner’s fingerprint. 

He has received international awards and recognition for his work, including a Thiel Fellowship, selection as a Forbes 30 Under 30 at age 19 and articles in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He is on leave from MIT, where he is studying computer science and management science.
