Student Activist, Students Demand Action & Black Lives Matter

My name is Jayla Hemphill, I’m currently 17 years old and will be attending Northfield High School (Denver, CO) as a senior in the 20-21 school year. The work I’ve done thus far in issues such as education, racial equality, gun control, and most importantly the correlation among those issues, has earned me the title of youth activist. I’ve so far given a handful of speeches, attended events, created initiatives, and supported groups related to these issues.
When I’m not protesting or advocating, I can generally be found writing short stories or poetry, coding, or binge watching old Disney channel shows (though I do hope to eventually fill some of my free time with working towards a law degree).
