Stephanie Bailey
Assistant Director

Stephanie specializes in the creative link between the natural world, art and science. Her career focuses on museum-specific strategic planning, operations, exhibit development and public programming. She has held roles at various science and art institutions, such as the Exploratorium and Headlands Center for the Arts in San Francisco. She also supports start-up museums, galleries and businesses, such as the Thruhlsen-Marmor Museum of the Eye, Museum of Surgical Science Chicago, 3Scan and her own storefront gallery and event space. Having started her studies in archaeology and natural history, she gained her Masters in International Museum Studies from the University of Göteborg, Sweden, and her BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the School of the Art Institute Chicago. Her most fun fact: she has dissected a whale.
