Assistant Dean for Access, Inclusion and Student Programs

Terri Wright has joined the college as assistant dean for access, inclusion and student programs, where she is charged with leading teams responsible for recruiting; career and professional development; scholarships and college affordability; college-wide diversity, equity and inclusion strategy; and the BOLD Center. 

Wright has more than 16 years of teaching, research and program management experience in higher education. She began her professional career as a consultant in the chemicals industry at Accenture Ltd. After returning to academia in 2004, she taught first-year chemistry and calculus courses, and directed academic achievement and co-curricular programs. 

Over the course of her career, she has provided underrepresented and low-income students in STEM disciplines with targeted academic advising, academic enrichment and undergraduate research opportunities. Wright earned a BA in chemistry from Hampton University and a doctorate in organometallic chemistry from the University of South Carolina.
